You will join a scientific team, where you will have responsibility for the generation of new cell lines producing recombinant proteins according to agreed timelines. You will contribute to the process optimisation and development of existing cell lines and you will be responsible for writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance at all times.
Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant area and have extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, process development and protein analysis. You will have experience in writing and reviewing protocols and knowledge of cGMP operations.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and execution of experiments to optimize production of recombinant protein in cell cultures
- Establishment, maintenance and scale up of mammalian cell cultures to bioreactors
- Development of assays and analytical procedures relating to the integrity of the recombinant proteins produced in cell culture
- Development and writing of standard operating procedures and maintaining records of activities in the facility to GLP standards.

Selection Criteria
Qualifications
Essential
- A PhD in a relevant area and
- Extensive experience in recombinant mammalian cell line development.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of recombinant protein production
- demonstrated expert knowledge in cellular transfections, selection/amplification, single cell isolation, cell culture maintenance and protein analysis,
- Knowledge and experience in scale-up operations.
- Knowledge of GMP operations as they apply to recombinant protein production
Desirable
- Experience in the field of monoclonal antibody technology
